Honestly, Taiwan was never on my top list of countries to go to but after exploring Taipei, I have so much respect to its culture and the country.
It was around early November 2016 when my Ate Kath told me she was going to Asia for a business trip and she asked me if I wanted to go meet her in Taiwan. Of course, I didn’t want to miss this chance to spend time with her, luckily, I don’t need to wait and process visa application because I have SK visa already. Since she only has limited time, we had full days to go around Taipei. I arrived in Taipei past midnight of Monday and left early morning of Wednesday. My friend, Geoff, was also in Taipei that time and coincidentally, we have the same flight back to Manila. So Ate Kath, Geoff and I went around Taipei and made good memories together for two days. The people in Taipei are very nice though not all of them understand English, there are times that you have to do sign language to communicate or just figure it out by yourself.

#SeoulSistersI have been dreaming to visit South Korea ever since I got hooked up with KDrama in 2003 and not long after, I was into Korean Pop (aka KPOP), too! Of course, I had to drag my sister with my Korean obsession. Later on, it’s not just the drama and music but the food, cosmetics and the country itself. There were many attempts to go to South Korea during my college years and unfortunately, I was not allowed by my parents. I promised myself that I will go to Korea with my sister when I’m already working.
Fast forward to 2016, I surprised my sister with a trip to South Korea with me during her debut. It was our first time to go on a trip with just the two of us and we had so much fun. South Korea is such a beautiful place and once you leave it, your heart will yearn to visit again. It's very tourist friendly and even though most of the Koreans do not speak English, they are very accommodating. The city is clean and there are a lot of places that you can go to. I know travelling on a budget is very challenging but it's possible. I always travel on a budget but it doesn't stop me from having fun and exploring corner by corner. From our experience, I made a list of travel "tipid tips" for those who would want to visit South Korea. Update: As of March 2019South Korean Embassy no longer process individual visas. You may refer to this list for the accredited travel agencies. It’s not really hard to obtain a South Korean visa; you just need to have complete and valid documents. We applied for our visa just two weeks before our flight and the standard visa processing is 5 working days upon submission in the SK embassy. (Please note that they do not have/allow rush processing) You can apply to SK visa first before buying your plane tickets since the plane tickets are not required for the visa application. I suggest you apply at least a month before your trip.
