A Beautiful Goodbye : "Fall in love with a story that will break your heart"
I heard about this play around the end of June and I bought a ticket to see the show without even reading the synopsis. I wanted to see it because the poster caught my attention and it got me curious. Since July, I was already looking forward to watching it. Last Friday, I finally had a time to read about the background of the musical play. And it made me even more excited! I was expecting a lot on the story and I was looking forward to how will it be interpreted.
The Last Five Years is a musical written by Jason Robert Brown in 2002. The Philippine version was produced by 9 Works Theatrical and it was directed by Robbie Guevara. It stars Joaquin Valdes as Jamie Wellerstein and Nikki Gil as Cathy Hiatt.

TOP 10 CLASSIC NOVELS“She read books as one would breathe air, to fill up and live.”― Annie Dillard, The Living
I started using #Livinginbetweenshelves with my book-related posts in instagram and now, I'll be using this for a series of TOP 10 posts about books.
First stop! My TOP 10 CLASSIC NOVELS recommendations Before I even started reading YA and Contemporary Fiction, my first books were mostly Classics. I was so into classic novels before, I appreciate the era and the setting. It made is easier for me to accomplish academic requirements since English teachers / professors required book reports, book analysis mostly on Classics books. Even now, I'm still reading Classics but not as often as I did before. My current read on Classics is The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton (1920). Classics from the genre itself depicts a different era and as most books published, had hidden agendas - What I mean is, writers tend to revolt through their writings and these classic novels we have now were somewhat creative output of what was really happening in their era. They were a reflection of an unjust political system, social issues, some the infamous "American dream" and so on. It's interesting and very reflective because you will learn the historical value of each story. And unconsciously, learn history in a much creative and not boring way. Our Young LoveBefore hitting the stage of definite maturity, we all had those moments that looking back makes you want to just laugh about it and say “Really?!” From what I learned from listening to other people's experiences to mine, these are what most of us had before we turned 20. The “I’ll never forget” puppy love – Of course we all had this, whether it was that boy who let you borrow his crayons or the girl who was your dance partner during a required school performance. The first notation about love that time was looking forward to go to school in the morning; it was pure kilig” - catching that person staring at you, or peeking in between discussions. Your siblings or friends won’t forget how crazy you were that time, and they surely will tease you about years after. You’ll never forget your puppy love, just because you don’t, it stays there. You remember the moments but the feelings are now just plain words.
