DAY 5 - SIEM REAPWe woke up in last night's clothes and since we've been waking up early since day 1 we decided to bum out a little on our last day. We stayed in bed until past 10 while talking about the crazy moments of the night before and the whole trip. After that we got up, prepared and checked-out of the hotel. The hotel staffs were very kind - they kept our luggages for the day and arranged our tuktuk in going to the airport.

Have you ever felt that instant click with something or someone? I felt this instant connection with Siem Reap. I don't know why, it just felt so natural, I felt like I've been living there for so long. Hahaha. From the moment I stepped out that morning, I knew for sure that I'm coming back. DAY 4 - SIEM REAPAfter the hustle and bustle of the beautiful Saigon City and historic Cu Chi district, we had some R&R at the peaceful district of Can Tho. It was Yiezza's idea to go to Can Tho and stay at the Green Village Homestay :) She's such a good planner, if it was me I would have lazily stayed in Saigon. Hehe. DAY 2 - Can Tho, Mekong DeltaWe had an early call time in the morning of August 3 because our bus leaves at 6:30 AM. We booked our bus trip through Futa Bus Transport Services online. At first, we mistakenly went to the wrong bus station and I thought we were going to miss our bus, but good thing we were just right on time :) It costs around 5 USD per person for the one-way fare. The trip was around 5 hours, since we had to transfer to another bus and had one stop over.
So this post would be a first of many things - in lieu of my first blog anniversary (Yaaaay!), first trip abroad with friends, first time in South East Asia and my first "birthday" trip.
I think it was around late June when my best friend, Yiezza called me about a seat sale promo in Cebu Pacific to Vietnam then Cambodia. Immediately, I asked for my parent's permission and booked a flight to Vietnam (fly in) - Cambodia (fly out). Our airfare has been just PHP 6,000+ with no check-in baggage (another first!). We were supposed to go with our (mean) girls, but due to work and school schedule, they couldn't :( Yiezza planned our itinerary, she booked our hotels and bus transportation for the trip. Around July, I told Paolo, my friend, about it. We were talking before about how we were so stressed with work and we both needed a break - this was the perfect getaway from it. He immediately booked a flight, too! Happy to have very spontaneous friends! Hahaha. I wasn't feeling the thrill of the trip yet because of work, not until two days before, I had a last minute shopping trip and finished packing a day before. All the while, I was praying that I won't over-baggage since the 7kg is the only allowed carry-on weight. (I don't know the definition of "pack light"). I decided to use #highonlove because everything about this trip is just pure natural high on love. So here's part 1 of my trip - Vietnam. Hope you'll enjoy this as much as I did! |
